WARDEN ENGINEERING

STEAM AND CONDENSATE SYSTEM

BRAUNTON (NORTH DEVON)

Scope of Works

MFL Mechanical collaborated with Warden Engineering to provide the design and mechanical installation of a new DN150 steam and condensate pipework system as part of a project constructing a new state-of-the-art pharmaceutical production area at a facility in Braunton, North Devon.

Our scope of works included the design and fabrication of pipe supports and the installation of approx. 200m of steam mains and condensate pipework services, to include the specified Spirax Sarco valves, drip legs and components to enable the supply of high quality steam to the required Air Handling Units, Sterilising Equipment and a DHW Plate Heat Exchanger package, all located on a mezzanine plant deck.

This was a complex installation due to the mezzanine plant deck being occupied by numerous mechanical and electrical services, which severely restricted our pipework routes, coupled with a tight deadline, but despite these challenges the project was completed on time and within budget.

The steam and condensate pipework installation looks fantastic, it was tight for space on the new mezzanine plant deck but the team have navigated the route really well. The install was planned thoroughly, resulting in all the necessary valves and components being accessible for future maintenance by our site services personnel…
